There's a sign in my kitchen that says
"There's a skinny girl who lives inside me that keeps trying to get out but I can usually shut her up with cookies."
I am a 30-something wife and sports fanatic who loves to cook, and firmly believes that there is no such thing as too much butter or garlic. My thighs, however, would disagree with the part about the butter, so I recently began the process of re-training myself to cook in a way that's healthy without sacrificing taste. This blog is a chronicle of my weight-loss journey and the recipes I find along the way...all dished out with generous pinches of sarcasm and sass.
I tried Weight Watchers for awhile, but I've come to the conclusion that the best thing for my family is to simply eliminate as many processed foods as possible. Our first step is Project Real Food where we are aiming to go the entire month of May 2012 with no processed foods. For more information, click here.

I have another blog, Confessions of a Control Freak, where I write about books, spirituality, and life in general - including lots of pictures of my adorable son, Sam.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the web!
